Our work speaks for itself. Waterloo has many years' experience in the market. Waterloo has developed unique insight into customer requirements. Our clients have come to rely on our expert advice, excellent design and reliable delivery. The projects below represent a fraction of the work we have completed and demonstrate our commitment to quality in action.

The Marks and Spencer Pantheon store on London’s Oxford Street has been trading for over thirty years. Over that time it has been updated on a number of occasions to give shoppers the best experience in-store. In 2007, it is undergoing a multi-million pound refurbishment. The building has been stripped back to shell and core, prior to full refurbishment of three floors plus the basement area. Mace has managed the project, working with M&E engineering consultants ACDP and mechanical and electrical contractor Michael J Lonsdale.

The main challenge for the project team has been to ensure continued trading while the refurbishment work took place. To achieve this work has been carried out on one half of the store, while the other half remained open. Phase one was completed in June 2007, and the second phase was finished in November this year.

Waterloo were selected for the project for a number of reasons, one of the main reasons was Waterloo’s industry leading delivery performance – this was paramount on the project to ensure trading was not disrupted - Waterloo supplied a number of products, including large louvre-faced diffusers, linear slot diffusers, and angle-bladed grilles. This included over 70 large louvre-faced diffusers, and large return air grilles. Some of these were up to 4m in length, so were supplied in sections for ease of fitting.

Fortnum & Mason is one of the best-known retailers in the world. Its store in London’s Piccadilly recently celebrated 300 years’ trading. Fortnum & Mason is a byword for quality, and it has a range of Royal Warrants awarded over many years.  The refurbishment began in 2005, with the aim of encouraging more customers to visit more often, with a more open feel to the space. The refurbished store has a new floor dedicated to fresh food, and several new cafes and restaurants. A central atrium with sweeping staircase and roof light forms an eye-catching centrepiece to the design

Fortnum’s is an historic building that occupies a site of 62,000 square feet in one of London’s busiest roads. Clearly then any refurbishment work had to fit within this space and minimise disruption to business. The client wanted to create a modern shopping environment for its loyal and new customers.

Waterloo supplied a range of continuous slot diffusers for the refurbishment project. Waterloo’s CSF has set the industry standard in terms of aerodynamic and acoustic performance. The CS range is suited to low volume applications due to its excellent low flow rate air diffusion characteristics and air handling capacity. The unique design of the air pattern control element provides a fully adjustable air pattern – from horizontal air distribution to vertical projection - without altering the aesthetics of the face of the diffuser.
