The Importance of Getting Involved in Local Sponsorship

The Sunday football league season is now about half way through the season and East Malling Reserves have had a great season so far. The team currently sits second in the league with seven wins in nine games.

We have taken a real interest in this local Sunday league team. So much so, that we decided to sponsor the team’s shirts to help support the team financially, as well as offer our support off the pitch.

The local Sunday league team who play in our local Maidstone and Mid Kent Sunday Football League, started the season with three wins out of three. They beat White Horse 2-1 in their first game, followed up with a 3-2 win against Barming Youth and a 2-0 win against Snodland Town. Except for a couple of blips, East Malling Reserves are the in-form team in the league.

Sunday league football is a great way for local people to take part in sport, stay fit, get fit or just simply have fun. (Maybe there are a few who still believe they have what it takes to become professional!) We couldn’t help but get involved.

The football club is based just over three miles away from our main site in Aylesford Kent, so it’s a local team for us. Sponsoring a local sports team doesn’t just provide benefits for the team, but benefits the local community too.

“If there are young people in the local community who are doing a course on engineering, sponsoring a local sports team is a great way of making sure that they know what opportunities are out there and Waterloo is certainly a route they could potentially take,” comments Rick Edmondson, Chairman at Waterloo.

It’s great to see our company logo on the East Malling Reserves kit and we look forward to seeing how they get on as the season progresses.

Make sure you check out our Twitter feed to keep up to date with how the team is doing this season.
